Samantha Devlin Mcloughlin

Mental Health Counselor in Training

Samantha is currently in training at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, studying Forensic Mental Health Counseling. Samantha is receiving specialized training in the treatment of trauma at PACS. See what Samantha has to say about her therapeutic approach:

“As a therapist, I want to create an environment where my clients feel accepted so that they have the room to explore and express themselves openly. It is in this openness and acceptance that change and growth can happen. It is also in this openness that we can begin to build self acceptance, which will eventually allow us to get clarity in what kind of relationships we want to have and what kind of life we want to build for ourselves.

I also believe that an essential part of therapy involves inviting my clients to challenge the way they see themselves and their life so they can intentionally decide which direction they want to take, rather than being on autopilot.

I enjoy working with people who are part of the LGBTQ+ community and dealing with difficult family dynamics. ”
